Theartre Facilities

Tornabene Theatre

Tornabene theatre showcasing Henry IVThe Tornabene Theatre is a flexible ‘black box’ theatre space. The Tornabene os used for 3 major productions each season. This is the production of Henry IV, Part One in 2005.

Combat Class

Students training wtih swords in theatrical combat.Stage Combat is regularly taught to members of the Arizona Repertory Theatre and frequently take advantage of the Tucson climate to hold class in the courtyard in front of the Tornabene Theatre.

Studios

Sophmores warming up before class.The School, of Theatre, Film and Television has four large studios for acting classes, musical theatre classes, Studio Series performances and rehearsals. This is a warm-up session for the Sophomore class in Acting.

The Marroney Theatre

The interiro of the Marroney TheatreThe Marroney Theatre was built in 1956. It is a 332-seat proscenium auditorium which was refurbished in 1993 with new seats, carpeting, stage drapes, lighting system and sound system.

 Scene Shop

Film and Television Facilities

Marshall Building 

Across the street from the Marshal BuildingThe Marshall Building houses the Film and Television program’s administrative and faculty offices, production and post-production labs, conference rooms and classrooms, in addition to Theatre Studies faculty offices and the Hanson Film Institute. Set directly west of the UA Main Gate, the Marshall Building is located among retail shops and a diverse selection of restaurants.

Media Arts Production Laboratory

MARPL student workers assisting others with equipment check-out.The Media Arts Production Laboratory (MARPL) is the equipment resource for all Film and Television students enrolled in production courses. From small, hand-held digital cameras or High Definition cameras to digital recorders, grip and lighting equipment, students have access to all the equipment they need to realize their creative visions. Production Studio 108

Production students setting a camera in Studio 108Production Studio 108 is a 1000 sq. foot space featuring a lighting grid, a cyclorama, and acoustical sound dampening for improved sound recording. It serves as a teaching space to demonstrate fundamental production techniques such as directing, lighting, green screen, ADR and Foley. It also serves as a sound stage for student projects. Studio 108 adjoins classroom Harvill 104, which offers white boards, media projection, and internet access. Here we see production students set up a camera test in Studio 108.
