The University of Arizona Museum of Art’s “Mapping Q” program marks its 10-year anniversary with a special exhibition celebrating the creative resilience of LGBTQ+ youth artists, both present and past.

“Mapping Q 2024: Still Queer After All These Years”

Mapping Q invites LGBTQ+ youth ages 14-24 to explore identity through artmaking workshops on topics like self-care, community building, harm reduction, queer futurism, queer joy, and radical visibility. Since its inception in 2014, the program has connected with hundreds of youth, multiple community organizations, and numerous LGBTQ+ artists.

Submissions from current Mapping Q participants will be installed in this special anniversary exhibition alongside works by past participants who still practice art, either professionally or personally as part of a self-care regimen.
