The College of Fine Arts was proud to celebrate the Class of 2025 by bestowing 361 degrees at the CFA Graduation Convocation on May 18 to a sellout audience at Centennial Hall.
Dean Andy Schulz, vice president for the arts, served as the keynote speaker. Schulz announced earlier this year that he was stepping down from both leadership roles. For his keynote speaker, Schulz reflected on the why the arts matter and offer a call to action.
Graduating BFA musical theatre seniors, James Kelley Carroll and John Claiborne Henderson sang “Make Your Own Kind of Music,” accompanied by Assistant Professor of Practice Jamie Reed. The School of Dance presented “Avalon”— choreographed by Gianni Howell, assistant professor of practice and alumnus, performed by graduating seniors Gavin Kimmel and Hanna Clark.
The College of Fine Arts recognized Kevan Sullivan from the School of Dance as this spring’s CFA Outstanding Graduate. Sullivan gave the student keynote. The School of Music’s Dylan Cook was selected the CFA Outstanding Senior and he offered the welcoming remarks.
