We’re throwing a cumbia party, and you’re invited! Phoenix’s own Pijama Piyama is making the trip south to bring their signature brand of psychedelic cumbia featuring a six-piece whirlwind of danceable grooves inspired by Latin music, Jazz, video games, Frank Zappa, and the multicultural nuances of growing up in The Valley of the Sun.
Holding down the night on either side of the live set are two of Tucson’s finest — DJ Humblelianess and DJ Q, both resident DJs and core members of Sonido Tambó, the crew behind El Tambó, Tucson’s beloved tropical dance party at the Historic Hotel Congress. Get ready to dance as Humblelianess weaves cumbia, house, electronic, and hip-hop into one seamless, irresistible flow, while DJ Q takes you on a journey through sounds from across the Americas and the Caribbean.
