Venue: University of Arizona Museum of Art
Start Time: 2:00pm

A pop-up exhibition of early modern artworks from the UAMA permanent collection, co-curated by University of Arizona art history students, highlighting global and cultural understandings of the time period known as the “Renaissance”.

Join students from the course Global Renaissance, led by Assistant Professor Jennifer Saracino, as they present their interpretations of artworks made or depicting places in Europe, Asia, the Americas from roughly 1498 to 1650. With support from Dr. Saracino and Willa Ahlschwede, UAMA Curator of Academic and Community Engagement, students co-curated a selection of artworks, researched and wrote about the works in small groups, and finally translated their academic writing into accessible interpretative labels.

At this event, students will offer brief introductions to their chosen artworks, followed by time for visitors to explore the pop-up exhibition in the UAMA classroom and talk with the students about their work.

Co-curated by students Isabella Aguilar, Paulette Ahumada, Julien Barrosse, Griffin Beeman, Marie Bienkowski, Sydney Blevins, Adri Boudrieau, Darren Conway, Seth Davis, Tokujiro Ellis, Jon Hartsock, Chloe Henderson, Mi Seok Huh, Sofia Ibarra, Erika Johnson, Hazel Jovanovski, Aniko Lehoczky-Levy, Liz Lendo, Aurora Levy, Alison Lingenfelter, Mackenzie Mayer, Lauren Mette, Jessica Nieder, Roland Swedlund, and Abby Trueblood.
