If you attend live events in or around the Tucson area, it is likely you have seen C. Elliott at work. Or perhaps you haven’t, as they are a master of their craft with an unnatural ability to disappear into the crowd, only emerging to capture that perfect moment on film. Either way, many consider C. Elliott to be THE house photographer for our city, and in this week’s episode of On The Record we caught up with them to discuss their life and times as a local fan turned professional shutterbug.

Officially C. Elliott is the House photographer for several local venues, including The Rialto Theater, Fox Tucson Theater, and 191 Toole, and also serves as such for the Rhythm & Roots Concert Series. They have served as a stinger photographer for the Tucson Weekly, KXCI Community Radio, KFMA, and Arizona Arts Live, and have been published in publications such as Visit Tucson/Vamos A Tucson, Visit Phoenix, and AFAR Magazine. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have been working with NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) to help to #Save Our Stages.

From their humble beginnings with a Kodak Instamatic to the current state of watching a show through an ocean of phones, join us this week as we discuss the changing face of capturing live performances with Tucson staple C. Elliott.
