Arizona Arts Master Plan

Arizona Arts became a new division at the University of Arizona on July 1, 2019, creating a unified gateway to the unique visual and performing arts assets, experiences, and educational programs, comprised of the four schools from the College of Fine Arts, plus Arizona Arts Live, the Center for Creative Photography and the University of Arizona Museum of Art.

Arizona Arts Master Plan

After a year of study, research and conversation, the Arts Master Plan was approved by University leadership. Working in coordination with the University’s Planning Design and Construction team, and with significant input from Arizona Arts staff and faculty, we enlisted Phoenix-based architectural firm DLR Group to head up the planning effort, led by architects Peter Rutti and Michael Rudolph, both Arizona alumni. The Master Plan will be our roadmap for realizing the facilities transformation that we know is essential for the success of the arts initiative in the university strategic plan.

A hallmark of Arizona Arts is creative inquiry and collaboration. The University of Arizona is one of the nation’s leading research, land-grant institutions. Arizona Arts will facilitate the full spectrum of interdisciplinary programming and arts-integrative research opportunities in alignment with the university strategic plan. New initiatives already launched include:
