Arizona Arts Live

Tucson favorite Calexico will perform on the University of Arizona Mall in a pre-game free concert before Arizona Football’s home opener against Northern Arizona on Sept. 2.

Arizona Athletics, together with Arizona Arts Live, is excited to present Calexico, a GRAMMY-nominated band, open to the public, beginning at 5 p.m. on the east side of the mall.

Praised by NPR for their “sprawling, cross-cultural indie rock, “Calexico has spent the better part of the past three decades exploring the dusty musical borderlands of the American Southwest, crafting singular, cinematic songs as mysterious and magnificent as the arid desert landscapes that inspired them. After decades on the road, Calexico’s music remains boundless and romantic, still gazing upon the horizon in search of their next adventure.
