Theresa Bogard
American pianist Theresa Bogard is a versatile performer and dedicated advocate for expanding the piano repertoire. Early in her career she championed works by women composers, a commitment she continues today alongside music by lesser-known voices. A Fulbright recipient, she studied fortepiano and historical performance practice at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, also winning a top prize at the International Mozart Fortepiano Competition in Bruges.

Bogard has performed across five continents, appearing in major venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and the Ravinia Steans Institute. Her wide-ranging discography spans solo piano, chamber music, contemporary works, and fortepiano recordings. Since her first Brazilian tour in 2007, she has immersed herself in that country’s rich musical traditions, returning frequently for concerts, masterclasses, and collaborations, including a 2018 tour with Trio das Nações.
An internationally recognized pedagogue, Bogard is professor of piano at the University of Wyoming, where she previously chaired the music department. Named Wyoming Professor of the Year in 2008, she has received multiple teaching honors and draws students from around the world. Her students have excelled in competitions and gone on to leading schools such as Juilliard, Eastman, and Oberlin. She is also a frequent adjudicator at major piano competitions and is a Steinway Artist.
