The University of Arizona Athletic Bands and Arizona Marching Band Association are proud to present the 71st Annual Band Day, this Saturday, Nov. 2, at Arizona Stadium. The event will showcase 47 of the finest marching bands from across the Southwest in an exciting day-long celebration of music and performance.

This year’s event will feature bands ranging in size from 35 to over 200 members, representing schools from across Arizona. Each band will perform throughout the day and be evaluated by a panel of expert judges from across the nation. The groups will be judged in key categories, including visual execution, musical presentation, and overall performance, with the top bands becoming eligible for the prestigious Nunamaker Award.

Both the morning and afternoon sessions will conclude with exhibition performances by the University of Arizona’s award-winning Pride of Arizona Marching Band, under the direction of Professor Chad Shoopman. This year’s performance will pay tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and features some of his greatest hits, including “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” “Smooth Criminal,” and more.
