Moving between English and Spanish, Alec André presents an intimate solo performance shaped by desert landscapes, memory, and cross-cultural exchange.

Alec André is the solo project of Mexican-American singer/songwriter and artist Alec André Ruvalcaba. Growing up in the vibrant border town of Nogales, Arizona, André embodies the unique fusion of Latin and American cultures. As a bilingual project, André embraces both English and Spanish as vehicles for storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the Folk Rock/Americana of the 60’s troubadours, the Psychedelic Sambas of Latin Singer/Songwriters, to the haunting melodies of Latin Boleros, André has crafted a collection of songs that are imbued with the spirit of the desert, creating a sonic landscape that is at once intimate and expansive, nostalgic and contemporary, and a tribute to playful creativity and a dedication to pushing the boundaries of not only genre, but also language and culture.

“Dreams of You” is a deeply personal collection of songs born from a year of solitude, transition, and aching honesty. Written during a season spent living in his car and on friends’ couches, André’s second EP captures the raw edges of heartbreak, the quiet moments of reflection, and the ghosts of love that linger in the spaces we leave behind. These songs are the sound of a time coming to an end, a dream coming to life, the sound of prayer, sacrifice, frustration, anger, and joy, fear and desire, tears, the sound of a reflection of the world through human eyes, the sound of love.

Recorded in the desert stillness of Oracle at Rancho Linda Vista, each track unfolds like a page from a journal—nostalgic, aching, and contemplative. With sparse, haunting ballads and intimate lyrics, “Dreams of You” is a cathartic journey through memory, longing, and emotional survival. This is music for the late-night drives, the quiet mornings, and the heavy-hearted in search of something honest. Presented at Sunshine Wine.
