“An Evening with the Creative Class” is a forum by moderated by new School of Dance Director Duane Cyrus at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre.
The forum that takes audiences behind the scenes at the School of Dance to learn about artists and their creative process; to be a think tank for how creativity can SPARK change in our society, and to discuss thought-provoking topics with the performing and visual arts as catalyst or entry point for that discussion. The audience will have the opportunity to discuss and ask questions about a specific topic selected and shared in advance by Cyrus.
Featured guests include photographer Ed Flores and videographer Carlos Terrazas. Each artist collaborated with the School of Dance over several years to create bodies of work in their specific genre. Their work translates the power of movement into an artifact that goes beyond or disrupts the ephemerality of the originating form to initiate a new perspective for the viewer.
Cyrus has produced this event on the East Coast for over a decade and is thrilled to bring the programming to the University of Arizona.
Admission is free. Donations are encouraged. First come, first served.
“An Evening with the Creative Class” is part of the Arizona Arts Signature Series, a curated set of events and experiences this fall designed to highlight the amazing work being done across the division.
