The University of Arizona School of Dance invites you to attend “Dance Visions,” an engaging panel discussion and interactive event moderated by Duane Cyrus.
“Dance Visions” offers audience members an up-close look at the multifaceted world of dance. Seating is first-come, first-served for this unique event that promises to enrich public understanding of the art of dance. The evening features a curated panel discussion with esteemed guest speakers:
- Eve Lawson, Balanchine Trust
- Masha Maddux, Martha Graham Dance Company
- John Harnage, Paul Taylor Dance Company
- Kayla Farrish, School of Dance alumna, Decent Structures Arts founder
The panel will delve into a variety of topics, including the legacy of dance and the intricacies of remounting works from iconic choreographers like George Balanchine and Martha Graham. Emerging artist and School of Dance alumna, Kayla Farrish, will discuss the keys to sustaining a successful dance practice and building a lasting legacy, co-sponsored by the Racial Justice Studio.
“Hosting ‘Dance Visions’ at the University of Arizona School of Dance allows us to engage in valuable dialogue with both the dance community and the public,” said Cyrus in his second year as school director. “This panel discussion serves as a starting point for a season filled with exceptional dance training and vibrant performances.”
