A short history of land and water on the San Xavier District on the Tohono O’odham nation, highlighting the importance of the collective action taken by tribal members. The video is part of Making Arizona, a documentary and educational program that highlights the intensifying effects of global climate change in Arizona and showcases stories of Arizonans experiencing and addressing aspects of climate change.

A personal documentary about the filmmaker’s parents, Lois and Dave, and their marriage, divorce…and re-marriage. By observing the prosaic and poignant details of a relationship that spanned 55 years, the film explores the inter-generational aspects of how and why people stay together or separate, and the realities of love and marriage.

Living on the 111th meridian on opposite edges of the country, two filmmakers and long-time friends share their yearning for and ambivalence with creating a place they call home.

Rough & Tumble: Taking Play Seriously (2024), Makino, 22 min
From the Rwanda jungle to the university laboratory, Rough & Tumble: Taking Play Seriously features the role of play for gorillas, dogs, rats, and dolphins, and reveals how necessary play is for the healthy development of children, reminding us of the joy we experience playing, both as kids and as adults! Experts featured in the film include the University of Arizona primatologist team Drs. Dieter and Netzin Steklis and Lourdes Rodríguez, UA Childcare and Family Resources Manager.
