Join the UAMA in celebrating local youth artists with free admission, this year’s High School Artists exhibition, the Taco Stop food truck, and special programming throughout the day!

Things kick off at 11:00 a.m. with a reception and award ceremony for High School Artists, an annual exhibition featuring works by youth in Pima County submitted by their teachers. Each year, a jury of UAMA staff and School of Art faculty selects five “Outstanding Emerging Artists” to receive $1,000 tuition awards toward a degree from the School of Art. The reception will recognize these five awardees and celebrate all of the artists in the exhibition!

Beginning at noon, enjoy a lineup of local music curated by Groundworks – Tucson’s youth-driven music and arts hub – as well as activities with community partners EON Youth Lounge and the Center for Creative Photography.

At 1:00 p.m., pay tribute to female artist icons with a special painting workshop from Caroline Eimer of Handcrafted by Care. Participants will paint on old vinyl records; all art supplies will be provided. The workshop is limited to 20 participants, so reserve your spot now!
