Fitting for the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the United States, The Art of Food, From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation offers something for every palette. Join us on the exhibition’s opening day for food-inspired art and festivities.

‘The Art of Food’ Community Day from the University of Arizona Museum of Art on Oct. 24 (noon-4p) is free. Admission is FREE thanks to support from the Edward J. Gallagher, Jr. Memorial Fund.

Programming will feature special guests from local organizations like the Community Food Bank, Mission Gardens and Urban Forestry Project. Enjoy live artist demonstrations, @papel_poet’s personalized poems, pop-up zine-making with the Poetry Center, live music and more.

This exhibition offers something for every palette, with modern and contemporary works by artists including Andy WarholDamien HirstEnrique Chagoya and Lorna Simpson curated from the renowned collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation. Explore why food is such a powerful and persistent subject in art throughout time, and its timely themes will leave visitors with something to chew on.
