TURN UP Multimedia Festival 2025 features composer and data instrument designer Chi Wang, guest performer saxophonist Edward Goodman, his students in the U of A Saxophone Ensemble, and 26 selected artists around the globe, March 20-22.

All events will be held at Crowder Hall and are free to the public.

Chi Wang

Chi Wang is an assistant professor of music in composition: electronic and computer music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She specializes in data-driven instruments, combining composition, sound design, and performance with repurposed game controllers and custom-built instruments. Wang has presented her work at leading electronic music conferences, including the International Computer Music Conference, where she won the Best Piece (Americas) award in 2018, and the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the U.S., where her composition Peony Garden was featured on the 2018 conference CD.

Saxophonist Edward Goodman, associate professor at the School of Music, is a versatile performer, improviser, and educator known for his expressive and dynamic playing. Winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Solo Competition, he has performed with the PRISM and Donald Sinta quartets, the Detroit and Tucson Symphony Orchestras, and co-founded the M-Prize-winning saxophone sextet, The Moanin’ Frogs. His debut album, Liminal (2020), was praised as “diabolically brilliant” (Fanfare Magazine).
