Join School of Art faculty member Kaitlyn Jo Smith and five other Photography, Video & Imaging MFA graduates from the University of Arizona for an exhibition, “Under the Sun,” at the Steinfeld Gallery, 101 W. Sixth St.
In addition to the March 7 reception from 4 to 8 p.m., there will be a panel discussion with the artists at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29. The photographers are:

Retired Professor Joseph Labate, a BFA and MFA alum, is the curator. The school’s graduate PVI program has been ranked third by U.S. News and World Report.
“This sustained recognition underscores the program’s academic strength, mentorship, and national influence within contemporary photography,” Labate says. “ ‘Under the Sun’ affirms the essential role of higher education in cultivating artistic practice and intellectual development. … The quality and range of their work stand as evidence of what education makes possible: conceptual depth, technical mastery and sustained artistic research.”
