Venue: The University of Arizona Museum of Art
Start Time: 5:00pm

A ripe banana affixed to a wall with duct tape doesn’t strike most folks as art, and even fewer would pay a few bucks for it…

…unless they were hungry. And yet Maurizio Cattelan’s Comedian, composed solely of those two materials, sold for $6.2 million at a Sotheby’s auction last fall.

“Why in the world?” you may ask? We’ll seek to answer that question in August’s round on Conceptual Art, where the idea behind a work transcends its aesthetic.

As usual, the multiple choice questions will be fun for all attendees and answers will be anonymous. So bring an open mind and get ready to have a good time. Register below to join us on Zoom!
