College of Fine Arts

Provost Ron Marx has provided an update on the ongoing search for the next dean of the College of Fine Arts.

The search committee has been finalized and includes a mix of faculty, alumni and staff from Arizona Arts, as well as two current students. The committee will be chaired by Nancy Pollock-Ellwand, dean of the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture.

Arizona Arts has chosen to partner with WittKieffer, a search firm with prior experience working with the College of Fine Arts and with the University of Arizona.

“We will proceed without the Vice President for the Arts title,” the provost noted. “The current portfolio will remain unchanged, as the president and provost believe the title of dean alone is strong enough to effectively manage this important division and build on our commitment to the arts.”

Candidates will likely be brought to campus in late April.
