School of Art graduate student Claire Fall Blanchette is hosting a solo exhibition, “Ruins,” at the Environment and Natural Resources 2 Building Courtyard on campus.
The installation, part of her 2023 Marcia Grand Centennial Sculpture Prize project, features two interacting walls of living bricks that she “grew” with mycelium, the invisible part of mushrooms whose roots consist of minuscule fungal threads called hyphae.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, at 4 p.m., Blanchette will give a short talk about “Ruins” during the Arizona Institute for Resilience’s Fall Fest at the ENR2 courtyard, 1064 E. Lowell St.
