Students, faculty and the public are invited to the ARE630 Showcase, “Re-envisioning Tucson: Soundscapes through Historical & Theoretical Lenses.” Discover how art and visual culture education intersect in this final exhibition by graduate students of ARE630: Historical and Theoretical Foundations of Art & Visual Culture Education.
Join us Monday, Dec. 2 from 2–5 p.m. in Room 245 for an engaging afternoon featuring interactive soundscapes created by grad students Kiara Imblum, Ziyu Feng, and Sirilak Saengsawang Rottler.
This project serves as the culmination of the course, where AVCE graduate students applied historical and theoretical frameworks studied throughout the semester to create interactive soundscapes inspired by their interpretations of Tucson. The exhibition explores connections between the past, present, and future, expressing socio-cultural aspects of place through socially engaged practices.
