“PLAZA: Etymology of Place” is a traveling exhibition that unites MFA photography artists from the University of Arizona and Arizona State University.

Curated by U of A School of Art graduate student Marcus Xavier Chormicle (Photography, Video & Imaging) and ASU photo graduate student Oscar Montes, the exhibition invites artists to reflect on their personal relationship to place — both far and near.
“PLAZA” is a gathering place. It is a meeting ground. Photographers can reflect on themes such as ancestral belonging, alienation, travel and dislocation.
In addition to the U of A’s Lionel Rombach Gallery, 1031 N. Olive Road, the exhibition also will be shown at ASU’s Step Gallery, 951 S. Mill Ave., in Tempe.
