“Being around so many clarinetists at ClarinetFest® 2024 was truly exciting and inspiring,” said Dorado. “I had the chance to learn from so many great masterclasses and workshops, meet and connect with other fellow clarinetists, and share ideas and experiences. It was a wonderful setting to celebrate our accomplishments and feel the sense of international community that music allows us to build.”

Qiru Duet, her clarinet-guitar duo, showcased a captivating fusion of Latin-American traditional music with the unique timbre of clarinet and guitar. Her duo partner is Nico Barberán, a Chilean guitarist.

“Through our performance and program notes, we offered insight into the cultural and historical context of the music we performed. The combination of clarinet and guitar creates a beautiful blend when performing Latin-American traditional music.”

Dorado won the research competition with her project titled ‘Ritmos de mi Tierra’ (Rhythms of My Land) and took second place in the orchestral audition competition.

“This experience has been incredibly rewarding and motivating as I continue to explore and celebrate the rich diversity of music and the knowledge it brings.”
